THANK YOU! WE HAVE ENOUGH TRANSCRIBERS BUT WE DO NEED VOLUNTEERS WITH EXPERIENCE MANAGING ON LINE PROJECTS!

A HUGE SHOUT OUT and THANKS to the hundreds of people from all over the world who offered to help us with the Archival Transcription project. That’s the kind of spirit we like to hear about when there is so much doom and gloom.

Unfortunately, there can be too much of a good thing and we have to announce that we have reached full capacity and are no longer accepting volunteers.

When we first began this project in early April we figured we might get 20 or 30 volunteers but within a very short time the CBC News article went viral and we had hundreds of offers – with more still coming in every day. We’d like to say yes to all of you but it is not possible, especially now that we are actually closed for the duration of the COVID 19 crisis.

So thank you! Thank you! We have been the victim of our own success and cannot accept any more volunteers to transcribe.

What we do need is a limited number of volunteers to manage the project on line. That requires some technical know how and experience working with Google Drive.

If you know how to use Google Drive, have experience managing on line projects and have time on your hands, please contact us at frederictonregionmuseum@gmail.com
