This year, the Fredericton Region Museum is excited to announce the launch of a new book club program based on the historical children’s series Dear Canada and I Am Canada.

The program will be offered at the museum and will tie the novels, which are based on significant historical events in Canada, to the history of central New Brunswick. The books take historical events such as the First World War, Second World War, the Titanic and more and tell the stories through the eyes of Canadian youth. The books written in diary form give a fresh and youthful take on historical narratives.

Book club meetings will be held on Monday evenings from 6pm until 8pm at the Fredericton Region Museum. The program will run for 8 weeks from March 16 until May 4th. There will be six books featured over the weeks; three from the Dear Canada series and three from the I Am Canada series (titles listed below). The first week will be an introduction night of the museum, the leader as well as the selected novels. The final night shall be a fun wrap up celebration.
