“I am wondering what information you might have on the original settlement of the Magundy, Blaney Ridge, Magaguadavic area of Prince William, York County in the late 1820′s. From my genealogy research, it appears that many of these settlers came from County Donegal, Ireland. Was this an organized immigration, similar to the “Scotch Colony” that settled in Kintore and Kincardine in Victoria County in 1873, when the new immigrants were recruited from a small area?

In the 1881 census, there are 77 still living residents of Prince William who gave their country of birth as Ireland, and many of them had that recorded on their tombstones.I have not yet found any documents to indicate this, but will keep trying, as it is a pet theory of mine.
