Objective of the York Sunbury Historical Society & Fredericton Region Museum
To collect, preserve and interpret historical data, records and objects relating to the history of the Province of New Brunswick, and in particular that of York and Sunbury Counties.
Our Collection
The Fredericton Region Museum collection is almost entirely dependant on donations from the public. Over the years we have collected a variety of artefact and archival material pertaining almost entirely to central New Brunswick though not exclusively.
Our Publication
The Officers’ Quarters is the official publication of the York Sunbury Historical Society. Publication dates are biannual: Fall & Winter, Spring & Summer. The Society publishes articles about the history and heritage of New Bruswick (primarily central New Brunswick) and Fredericton.

Hello, I am in possession of my grand father’s service medals from WW2, and am wondering if the museum might be interested in them. His name was Robert Willett of 777 Aberdeen St. Currently the medals are encased in a shadow box display which includes the envelope that they were mailed in.
Yes, that is something that the Fredericton Region Museum would be interested in. Please fill out this form, http://www.frederictonregionmuseum.com/content/231628, and I will forward the information on to the Collections Committee.
Cheers!
Ruth
Thank you Ruth. It may be a couple of weeks before I get them sent off and I will write what little information I know about ‘Pete’. He was a close friend of our family but I was young and don’t know much of his history. Sydne
I looking forward to receiving them!
Thank you,
Ruth
Hello, I have come across a few pictures and some personal correspon-dence of Peter A. Owens who was originally from your area. I am aware that he had a brother Joe who continuted to live in your area. Pete worked at a clothing store here in Great Falls, Montana with my father during the 1920’s – 1940. I would be happy to send these few items on to you if you would send me your complete Museum address. If you are not interested in these items and have a suggestion as to what I might do with them please let me know. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you, Sydne Abernathy
Please, send them along. I’m certain that the Museum Collections Committee would be interested and if they are not, I’m confident that I can find a good home for them. It would be helpful to know as much about Peter Owens and his family as possible.
Our address is PO Box 1312, Station A, Fredericton, NB Canada, E3B 5C8.
Please address it to the Fredericton Region Museum (c/o the York Sunbury Historical Society).
Thank you,
Ruth
