We love visitors all year round but if you’re coming in the winter, here’s  a word of warning! The museum is a cool place to visit during the winter months. Quite literally! Our building is a national and provincial historic site and is therefore uninsulated and unheated during the winter months. So dress warmly. It’s worth the visit!

Visitors

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: The Officers’ Quarters was built in 1841 and there is no elevator access to the balcony, the 2nd or 3rd floors nor are there wheelchair accessible bathrooms in the building. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are available in the public washrooms in Officers’ Square.

PARKING: Parking is by meter only on Campbell Street (behind the Fredericton Public Library off Carleton Street).  There is a 2 hour limit on parking in the Campbell Street parking lot.

COMFORT: In the fall, winter and spring seasons the museum is a cool place to visit…literally! We recommend dressing for the outside if you are visiting in the off season!

Holiday Hours Update (2025-2026)
During the week of December 22, the museum will be open on the following days:
Wednesday, December 24 — 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Friday, December 26 — 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 27 — 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
During the first week of January, the museum will be open on:
Friday, January 2 — 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 3 — 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The museum will return to its regular schedule (Wednesday to Saturday, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.) starting the week of January 5.

JULY – August 
MUSEUM:
Monday to Saturday: Open to the public from 10 am to 5 pm
Sunday: Open to the public from 12 noon to 5 pm
Thursay: Open until 7pm

Monday –  Friday: There is someone in the office from 9 am to 5 pm
