A Taste of History – An Immersive Group Experience
Discover Fredericton’s rich and colourful past through “A Taste of History”, an engaging theatrical and guided experience at the Fredericton Region Museum.
Designed especially for group bookings, this 90-minute program blends live music, storytelling, costumed interpretation, refreshments, and a guided exploration of the museum’s exhibits. From the moment guests arrive, they are welcomed into a lively historical atmosphere that transforms a traditional museum visit into a memorable cultural experience.
Your visit begins with a warm outdoor welcome (weather permitting), where live instrumental music sets the tone under the historic balcony. Inside, guests enjoy a curated “Taste of History” featuring Coburn’s apple cider and maple cookies (gluten-free options available upon request), while browsing the Museum Gift Shop.
The highlight of the experience is a dynamic theatrical and musical performance presented in 19th-century costume. Through storytelling and song, history comes alive — from the Wabanaki Peoples and Acadian settlers at Pointe Sainte-Anne, to Loyalist refugees, military heritage, Fredericton’s famous Coleman Frog, Chestnut Canoes, and even local UFO investigator Stanton Friedman. The performance provides an engaging introduction to the exhibits visitors will then explore.
Following the performance, guests are invited on a guided tour of the museum. Knowledgeable guides lead visitors through galleries spanning centuries of local history. Please note that approximately half of the museum’s exhibits are located on the second floor.
The experience concludes with additional time to browse the gift shop before departure.

A minimum of 20 participants per booking is required.
Maximum capacity: 55 guests.

Available between 9:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (weather and availability dependent).
