The Fredericton Region Museum offers guided, self-guided tours and special programs for students of all grade levels, pre-school through university including daycares, ELP Programs, Cadets, Girl Guides and Scouts. Museum staff and volunteers engage students in active looking and discussion as they explore the museum’s varied collection and exhibitions.

Tour Availability
Tours may be scheduled Monday to Friday from 10am to 8pm, but must be booked at least two weeks in advance.

Group Size
Group size may vary depending on your program option.  The maximum number of participants for a guided group tour is 100.  The minimum number of participants for a group tour is 12.  If you have fewer than 12 participants then the minimum guided tour fee will be $24.

We require one chaperone for every 10 students on guided tours. Additional adults will be charged the regular tour/program fee (please talk to the Education Coordinator if you have any questions or concerns). Large groups are usually divided into smaller groups because the galleries in our building are small. For example, a group of 100 students would be divided into 4 groups that would tour at the same time but start in different galleries.

Scheduling a Tour
Guided tours must be requested at least two weeks in advance. Fill out the pre-registration form to begin the scheduling process. A member of the Museum staff will contact you after you fill out the pre-registration form to discuss the details of your upcoming visit. If you do not fill out the pre-registration form then your tour will not be booked! Please fill out the pre-registration form!

We can include the museum 18 minute DVD movie on the history of central New Brunswick. The DVD is recommended for grade 9 and up and is bilingual.

The second floor of the museum is not wheelchair accessible. Some of the museum’s exhibitions are on the main floor as well as the restrooms.

Lunch at the Museum
You may bring a bag lunch. Please plan ahead so we can reserve space for your group. Some groups take advantage of the Officers’ Square grounds and plan a picnic in front of the museum and others like to picnic on our balcony.

We are located on Queen Street right in Officers’ Square! There is bus parking in behind the museum. Follow Queen Street, turn right on to Carleton Street and follow the street all the way around the Fredericton Library. The bus parking spaces are at the far end of the parking lot on the left hand side.

Cancelling a Tour
Please contact the museum as soon as you know you need to cancel your visit. You will be invoiced if your group does not show up for a scheduled tour.

Please e-mail if you have any questions.
