We love visitors all year round but if you’re coming in the winter, here’s  a word of warning! The museum is a cool place to visit during the winter months. Quite literally! Our building is a national and provincial historic site and is therefore uninsulated and unheated during the winter months. So dress warmly. It’s worth the visit!

Visitors

COVID 19: For our health and yours, we ask our visitors wear a mask.  Why? Our Museum has small rooms, narrow aisles and stairways. Originally built in 1786, the structure you see now was completed in 1853 and does not have a modern air ventilation system. Therefore, we ask our staff, volunteers and visitors to wear a mask.

ACCESS: Due to ongoing development in Officers’ Square, foot access may be limited via the entry on Queen Street.

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS: The Officers’ Quarters was built in 1841 and there is no elevator access to the balcony, the 2nd or 3rd floors nor are there wheelchair accessible bathrooms in the building. Wheelchair accessible bathrooms are available in the public washrooms in Officers’ Square.

PARKING: Parking is by meter only on Campbell Street (behind the Fredericton Public Library off Carleton Street).  There is a 2 hour limit on parking in the Campbell Street parking lot.

COMFORT: In the fall, winter and spring seasons the museum is a cool place to visit…literally! We recommend dressing for the outside if you are visiting in the off season!
